I’ve been making art most of my life. As a kid I was lucky enough to have parents that encouraged my creativity both by providing materials at home and by driving me long distances to art classes. My interest in photography began in high school and continued at UCLA where I spent many of my days in the photo lab. But oddly enough, after graduating it didn’t occur to me that I could make a living from my photography. So I did the obligatory soul searching after college, did a lot of traveling, from Portland to Peru and tried many different jobs. Eventually I moved back to Los Angeles in 2008 when I realized there was absolutely nothing else I would rather do than photography. I immediately began shooting professionally and teaching photography for the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs at the Canoga Park Youth Arts Center. Ever since, I have felt very lucky to be making a living from what I love to do.
